beautiful poem, tony ❤️. how lucky your wife is to have had you & to be immortalized beyond life in such a wonderful way -- just like all the greats in time/history -- she will live on & forever be with you through your words and your art. thank you for sharing this tribute!
I'm not usually one for wordy poetry, but that got me, and those last two lines, well, that REALLY got me... Currently sat in silence, listening to the hum of my laptop, having already subscribed, thinking 'I'll pop back and revisit that guy's Substack some time soon'.
Thank you for this thoughtful comment. The last line specifically was in response to the idea of superposition. A wave form collapsing into a particle upon observation. A bit of romanticism on my part, that a person can be everywhere and no where at once until the right person lays eyes on them. All-at-once we become the person we are destined to be.
I've re-read your words again and keep finding more and more that I like - and I had already loved it the first time.
I don't think I'm giving anything away about the latter though, I'd pretty much let that (ahem) cat out of the bag. More seriously, perhaps, thank you again for sharing something so personal though.
I have only been on Substack a matter of days and am beginning to think I will shortly be deleting pretty much all other social media.
It's been an uplifting experience, thank you again.
I just got back onto Substack myself. It’s a very welcoming venue in my experience. Always nice to be read. And humbling to see how much literary talent and creativity is out there.

Such a beautiful poem and tribute to your wife, I’m so sorry for your loss 🙏🏻🩰🦢
Thank you.

Beautiful line!
Moving, vivid tribute. I'm sorry for your loss. 🪷
Such a beautiful poem. A lovely tribute to your beloved. Thank you for sharing your work and your grief. <3
Absolutely beautiful. Knowing it’s about your wife makes it even more poignant and precious. Thank you for sharing this.
She was beautiful and you shared a special love. How odd that the Fates brought you back to each other but then decided they had been too kind.
Such a great read it was. The grief, of a loss, articulated in such a nice way, I'm truly amazed. Thankyou sm for sharing it with us.
Thank you for reading and the kind, supportive words.

I have been here all of a couple of days, but agree with what you say, and hope to revisit your posts sometime soon too. What a funny ol'world it is.
Thank you for sharing your grief and love in such a gently detailed image.
Thank you for reading.
Very moving, Tony. Beautifully written.
